Moving to a new home is tough on anyone, especially in a state as big as California. Finding a new church can be quite the endeavor if you are accustomed to your church. Luckily, there are hundreds of churches that will be happy to have you become a part of their community. Depending on your faith and location, you can find a great church for you.
If you’re moving to the San Francisco bay area, you may be surprised to learn that there are a number of Christian churches and worship services scattered throughout. But California is renowned for its diversity, and Christians are a part of that tapestry.
| Further south but still on the bay is Fremont. Churches in Fremont, CA include any number of different denominations, from Lutherans to Presbyterians, and from Baptists to Catholics. No matter your preference, Christian worship in Fremont is available.
San Jose is at the far end of the bay, and is a city in its own right. The Family Community Church hosts a number of services and events for adults and children, and can help you to make those connections. If you’re more interested in a traditional Christian church in San Jose CA, services at the Westgate Church may be more to your liking.
Christian worship services in Sunnydale, just to the north of San Jose, are less in number, but just as strong pillars in their community. The First United Methodist Church in Sunnydale offers nondenominational and multicultural services, with similar services offered around the area. There are even Iranian, Chinese, and Korean services held at various locations throughout the city.
Whether you’re strictly Presbyterian, looking for a cultural context to your worship, or you’re more interested in after-school and weekend activities for your children, the San Francisco bay area has a lot to offer for the Christian with an ear to the ground. |
